STY Uwan zieht über das gebirgige Terrain von Northern Luzon und erreicht am Montagfrüh entweder den Golf von Lingayen oder die Küstengewässer von La Union oder Ilocos Sur. Durch die Interaktion mit dem Terrain wird sich Uwan deutlich abschwächen, bleibt aber voraussichtlich während seines gesamten Zuges über Northern Luzon ein Taifun.
Ab Montag bis Dienstag dreht Uwan in nordwestlicher bis nördlicher Richtung und behält dabei seine Taifunstärke. Am Mittwoch wendet er sich weiter nach Nordosten in Richtung Taiwan Strait und schwächt sich dabei ab. Prognosen zufolge erreicht der Taifun am Donnerstag das Festland im Westen von Taiwan, schwächt sich dann über der taiwanesischen Landmasse rasch ab und erreicht schließlich die Gewässer nahe der Ryukyu Islands, Japan, bevor er sich weiter zu einem Resttief abschwächt. – KR
